Our hybrid Medical Laboratory Assistant diploma program covers essential skills for medical lab work, including professional healthcare communication, lab safety, laboratory mathematics, medical terminology, basic first aid and CPR.

You will gain a strong foundation in phlebotomy, specimen handling and blood analysis, with an emphasis on infection control and quality assurance.

Practical knowledge in clinical chemistry, histology, and cytology helps you accurately prepare specimens. Training in ECGs and blood pressure monitoring rounds out your skill set, making you proficient in sample collection, analysis and assisting in patient diagnostics. You will apply your newfound skills during a 6-week practicum in a laboratory environment, further preparing you to explore career options with confidence.
